View the amazing variety of products on offer at places like Chatuchak Weekend Market, and see how buyers and sellers negotiate, how deals are struck. The markets are fun and they offer great clue to the nature of Thai society.

Chatuchak Weekend Market

Fully open on Saturdays and Sundays only. Provides shoppers with a huge ion of merchandise from t-shirts & souvenirs to tribal goods and antiques. One of the great bazaars of Asia. Be prepared to bargain.
Open Saturday-Sunday from 07.00 a.m - 06.00 p.m.
SkyTrain to (N8) Mo Chit Station (Sukhumvit Line), Take exit 1 and walk straight 100m to Chatuchak Park on your right. Layout plan of market available at bookstores.

Pratunam Market /Bai Yok Tower
Located along a warren of alleys and stalls, this area is famous for low cost clothing, plus watches, fabrics, towels, bedding etc.
SkyTrain to E1 Chit Lom ,Station (Sukhumvit Line). Take exit 3, go 250 m straight ahead to intersection of Ratchaprarop Rd. Cross pedrestrian bridge to right and walk Straight ahead 450 m. to Petchburi Rd. intersection. Cross Petchburi to Pratunam Market. Or take bus number 13 / 38 from Chit Lom Station.

Pak Khlong Talat


Large riverside market busy around the c, specializing in fruits, vegetables and flowers, many of which arrive by boat. At night, area along river between market and nearby Buddha Yod Fa Bridge turns into night bazaar selling clothes etc. Many photo opportunities. Flowers tend to be sold along far side of Chakkaphet Rd.
SkyTrain to S6 Saphan Taksin Station (Silom Line). Take Exit 2 and walk to Chao Phraya Express Boat Pier Catch Express Boat up river to Memorial Bridge Pier (Saphan Phut) N6 and adjacent Pak Khlong Talat.

Suan Lum Night Bazaar

Newly established market selling a wide variety of goods.
Open Daily from 05.00 a.m. - 11.00 p.m.
SkyTrain to S2 Sala Daeng Station (Silom Line). Take public transport from exit 3 down to Rama IV Rd. Turn left at Wireless Rd. intersection and proceed along Wireless Rd. for 300m, market on your right.Or take Exit 5 from Sala Daeng Station and changes to Subway(MRT) to Lumpini Station then left exit no.4.

Chinatown Markets

Known for a wide variety of goods, the former thieves market (now Nakhorn Kasem market), Sampeng Lane (Soi Wanit 1), the Saphan Han market bracketing Khlong Ong Ang and the lndian markets of Pahurat offer a huge array of goods.
SkyTrain to S6 Saphan Taksin Station (Silom Line). Take Exit 2 to Chao Phraya Express Boat Sathorn Pier (Central Pier) Take boat upriver to Ratchawongse Pier N5 Then straight on Ratchawongse Rd. until intersecting Soi Wanit 1 (Sampeng Lane), about 350 m. Turn left walk along Soi 550 m to Khlong Ong Ang and markets lining its banks or continue across the Khlong to adjacent Pahurat Indian cloth market. To visit Nakhorn Kasem Market, turn right on Soi Chakkrawat which intersects Sampeng lane 300m before Khlong Ong Ang. Walk ahead 200m to intersection with Yaowarat Rd. cross Yaowarat and Proceed straight. Market on left between Yaowarat & Charoen Krung Rds. Or, take Skytrain to W1 National Stadium Station & take public transport to Chinatown.

Thewes Flower Market

For a good introduction to tropical flora stop here to see both cut flowers and potted plants for sale.
SkyTrain to S6 Saphan Taksin Station (Silom Line).Take Exit 2 and proceed straight to nearby Chao Phraya Express Boat Sathorn Pier.Take Chao Phraya Express Boat to Thewes Boat Sathorn Pier N15 and walk straight ahead 500m. up to Krung Kasem Rd.then turn left on Samsen Rd.,cross adjacent Khlong Phadung and turn left to Thewes flower market.

Patpong Market
After sunset, the pedestrian precinct of Patpong 1, which has some of Bangkok's famous nightspots, is transformed into a busy market for garments. Bargaining is a must.
Open Daily from 06.00 a.m.- 02.00 p.m.
SkyTrain to Sala Daeng Station S2 (Silom Line). Take Exit 1, straight ahead 2 bs to Soi Patpong on the right.

Banglam Poo / Khao San Road
Located in one of Bangkok's older neighborhoods this area has evolved into a budget travelers mecca with many cut rate travel agencies, sidewalk cafes and street merchants. Great place for browsing and people watching.
SkyTrain to S6 Saphan Taksin Station (Silom Line). Leave via Exit 2 and walk to nearby Chao Phraya Express Boat Pier Take Express Boat upriver to Banglam Poo Pier N13 Exit pier and walk short distance to Phra Athit Rd. Turn left and follow Phra Athit Rd. past Phra Sumeru Fort on your left and continue another 300m to intersection with Chakrapongse Rd. Cross Chakrapongse Rd. then turn right and proceed for about 350m to Khao San Rd. which will intersects on your left.
